Sanjana Ganesan, sports presenter and wife of Indian cricket pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, took to social media today in a light-hearted post that playfully teased her husband ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Notably, Sanjana is part of the ICC broadcasting team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The picture, shared by Sanjana on her Instagram handle, showed the couple in what appeared to be a team photoshoot. Bumrah, dressed in his new India jersey was seen sporting a smile on his face. Sanjana, standing beside him, too shared a cute smile in front of the camera.
The caption, which has garnered significant attention from fans, reads: “Bring-Your-Husband-To-Work Day” with a teasing smile.
This post has been met with amusement by fans, acknowledging the pressure that often builds for players and their families during major tournaments. Many followers responded with comments wishing Bumrah good luck and praising Sanjana’s supportive presence.
Team India enters the T20 World Cup 2024 as one of the favourites, and with Bumrah’s fiery pace bowling being a crucial weapon in their arsenal, all eyes will be on the star performer.
Brett Lee, renowned for his fierce pace bowling during his playing career of Australia, believes a renewed focus on yorkers could significantly benefit teams in the high-pressure death overs of T20 cricket. Bumrah, the Indian pace maestro, has been lauded by Lee for his mastery of the yorker, consistently proving its effectiveness in restricting batters.
“On a general rule, other than Bumrah, we haven’t seen enough fast bowlers nailing their yorkers recently.
“I want to see fast bowlers bowl more yorkers. I still don’t reckon they execute enough yorkers at the death,” Lee said at the launch of the Legends Intercontinental T20 league.
