Newcastle vs Fulham – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Newcastle United will need to put their Champions League exit behind them swiftly as they have a tricky Premier League match against Fulham to navigate on Saturday afternoon.

Each side has endured and enjoyed contrasting recent trajectories. Newcastle are ravaged by injuries and their results have dipped as a result, while Fulham have hit some superb form, winning three of the last four in style.

Here is all that you need to know about Fulham’s trip to Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend.

Much has been made of Newcastle’s injury issues this season and they only got worse during the defeat against AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier both seemed to pick up injuries in the second half. Trippier is suspended here anyway so he is expected to be replaced on the right by Tino Livramento.

Alexander Isak could come in to form a front two with Callum Wilson, or Lewis Hall may be given minutes from the start in an attacking role. The good news is that Dan Burn got some more minutes from the bench against Milan so he could make a return to the starting lineup here.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Fulham (4-3-3): Dubravka; Livramento, Lascelles, Schar, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Isak, Hall.

Willian - Soccer Player for Chelsea and Brazil

Marco Silva avoided an injury scare in the week as Willian seems to have recovered and is training after he had to be taken off against West Ham United. He is not expected to start this game though as Harry Wilson excelled as the Brazilian’s replacement.

Issa Diop is recovering from a foot injury and could be used in this game, but it will come too soon for Adama Traore and Tim Ream who are working to recover from their respective hamstring and calf problems.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Tosin, Bassey, Robinson; Cairney, Palhinha; Iwobi, Pereira, Wilson; Jimenez.

This could be a very interesting game which means it is a shame nobody outside of the stadium will get to see it in the United Kingdom, given it’s a 15:00 GMT kick-off. Newcastle, as the home side with deeper pockets, should still be the favourites.

That being said, Fulham are playing their best football of the season and will arrive in the northeast full of confidence. It might not be enough to ensure they can get anything from the game but don’t expect them to get steamrolled by this depleted Newcastle side.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Fulham
