IPL 2025 Auction: Complete list of players sold at the bidding event with their price

Day 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction unfolded with relentless bidding wars, carrying forward the drama from the previous day in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The marquee event on Monday, November 25, saw Indian veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar take center stage. The seasoned bowler triggered a fierce battle among franchises before being secured by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for an impressive INR 10.75 crore. RCB, who faced criticism for their inactivity on Day 1, redeemed themselves with calculated moves. They added firepower by acquiring Tim David and Krunal Pandya, signaling a renewed intent to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

Historic signings set the tone

The auction’s first day on Sunday, November 24, saw franchises splurge a whopping INR 467.95 crore to sign 72 players, laying the foundation for a blockbuster season. The highlight of Day 1 was Rishabh Pant, who shattered records by becoming the costliest player in IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured the star wicketkeeper-batter for INR 27 crore, a jaw-dropping figure that dominated headlines.

Close on Pant’s heels, Shreyas Iyer fetched INR 26.75 crore after an intense bidding war, eventually landing with Punjab Kings (PBKS). Another surprise came when Venkatesh Iyer returned to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 23.75 crore following a bidding war with RCB. Overseas players also garnered attention, with Jos Buttler becoming the costliest foreign signing at INR 15.75 crore for PBKS. Meanwhile, KL Rahul moved to Delhi Capitals (DC) for INR 14 crore, continuing the trend of marquee players switching franchises.

Indian pacers and overseas stars shine

Day 2 of the auction brought a shift in focus, with Indian pacers taking the spotlight. Bhuvneshwar, a stalwart in Indian cricket, was the standout performer of the day, securing ₹10.75 crore with RCB, making him the headline signing. Among the overseas stars, South African all-rounder Marco Jansen attracted significant interest, ultimately joining Punjab for INR 7 crore. Australian pace maestro Mitchell Starc, who made history in the previous auction by becoming the most expensive player at INR 24.75 crore for KKR, was picked up by Delhi for INR 11.75 crore this time around, highlighting his continued value in T20 cricket.

All-rounders and veteran players take the stage

The all-rounder category emerged as one of the most hotly contested segments of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, with franchises vying to secure versatile players capable of contributing in multiple facets of the game.

One of the standout moments was the homecoming of Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Known for his tactical brilliance and adaptability, Ashwin was snapped up for a hefty INR 9.75 crore. This move thrilled CSK supporters, as the veteran spinner brings invaluable experience and a deep understanding of the franchise’s culture, having played a crucial role in their early successes.

On the other hand, Punjab made a bold statement by spending INR 11 crore on Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Renowned for his ability to deliver impactful performances with both bat and ball, Stoinis is a proven match-winner in high-pressure situations. His inclusion significantly bolsters PBKS’s lineup, adding both power-hitting capability in the middle order and reliability in the bowling department.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: The 13-year-old prodigy making IPL history

In a groundbreaking moment for cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old sensation from Bihar, has captured the spotlight by becoming the youngest player ever signed in an IPL. The young prodigy was picked up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a staggering INR 1.10 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction, held at the Abady Al Johar Arena. This historic signing has sent ripples across the cricketing world, highlighting the immense potential of the rising star.

Hailing from Samastipur, Bihar, Suryavanshi meteoric rise in cricket is nothing short of extraordinary. At just 12 years and 284 days, he etched his name into the history books by making his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2023-24 season. Facing a formidable Mumbai side, he became the youngest player ever to feature in the prestigious domestic tournament.
