India’s premier domestic One-Day tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, has reached its decisive knockout stage after an intense group phase. The 2024-25 season of the competition has already showcased stellar performances from both batters and bowlers, and the stakes are now higher as teams battle for the coveted title.
Group Stage Highlights
The group stage saw several outstanding individual performances and fierce competition among teams. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Vidarbha and Baroda secured direct entries into the quarter-finals after topping their respective groups. Punjab also advanced to the quarter-finals as the best-performing second-placed team.

With four centuries and an average of 153.25, he has set the benchmark for consistency and dominance. Karun Nair, another standout performer, has scored 542 runs in five innings, including four centuries. Remarkably, Nair was dismissed only once in his last innings, underlining his exceptional run of form.
Among the bowlers, Arshdeep Singh has emerged as the highest wicket-taker, with 17 scalps in six innings at an average of 18.17. He has been a crucial asset for his team, delivering impactful spells. Gujarat’s Chintan Gaja follows closely with 16 wickets in seven innings, boasting an impressive average of 15.62.
