During the 25th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Dwayne Bravo stole the show with his trademark dance celebration after taking a crucial catch. Known for his exuberant personality and unique on-field antics, Bravo once again brought a smile to fans’ faces with his lively post-catch dance.
The memorable incident occurred in the very first over of the Patriots’ innings. Akeal Hosein, the bowler, delivered a perfect delivery to Evin Lewis, tempting him into a drive. The ball took a healthy edge and flew towards the slip position where Bravo was stationed. Bravo made no mistake, comfortably pouching the catch before breaking into an impromptu dance move that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Lewis departed for just 2 runs off 5 balls, caught by Bravo off Hosein’s bowling, marking an early breakthrough for the Knight Riders.

Despite losing Lewis early, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots recovered well and posted a competitive total of 193/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Their batting lineup put in a strong performance, with key contributions from the middle order. However, their efforts would ultimately prove insufficient in the face of Trinbago’s aggressive chase.
In response to the Patriots’ total, Trinbago Knight Riders chased down the target with ease, reaching 197/3 in just 18.3 overs to win the match by seven wickets. The hero of the innings was Nicholas Pooran, who played an extraordinary knock of 93 runs from just 43 balls. Pooran’s fireworks included six boundaries and seven towering sixes, striking at an incredible rate of 216.28. His powerful hitting made the chase look effortless, as Trinbago secured a dominant victory.
This win saw the Trinbago Knight Riders move up to the 4th position in the CPL 2024 points table with 10 points. Their points tally now equals that of the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals, who occupy the 2nd and 3rd spots, respectively. The race for playoff spots is heating up, with Trinbago showing their intent with a commanding performance.
For St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, however, the tournament has been a disaster. After winning their opening game, they have now suffered nine consecutive defeats, languishing at the bottom of the points table. With just one win from 10 matches, the Patriots’ chances of advancing in the tournament are all but over, as they struggle to find any sort of form in this year’s edition of the CPL.
