For the eight sides that make it through the last 16, the Champions League quarter-final lies in wait. The four ties will take place over two legs, the first of which will occur on 9/10 April and the second on 16/17 April.
Unlike the last 16, the quarter-final draw is completely random, meaning any two teams can face one another.
Teams will know their potential opponents for the semi-final of the Champions League following the quarter-final draw. It all depends on which side of the draw a club ends up on, with semi-finals also taking place over two legs – one at each team’s stadium.
The first leg will commence on 30 April/1 May, while second legs will take place on 7/8 May.
This year’s Champions League final will take place at London’s Wembley Stadium on 1 June. It will be the third time that the new Wembley has been used to host the big game, the 90,000-seater arena also the venue in 2010/11 and 2012/13.
Of the 16 teams left in the competition, half have never won the Champions League before. From those, only five have never reached the final before.
