3 players KKR can target if Mujeeb Ur Rahman is not available for IPL 2024

The participation of three- Afghanistan players, including Mujeeb Ur Rahman, in the upcoming 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is uncertain.

Disciplinary measures and investigation by Afghanistan Cricket Board

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has decided not to grant a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to these players for overseas franchise-based leagues for the next two years as a disciplinary measure. This decision was prompted by the players expressing a desire to be released from their central contracts. According to the ESPNcricinfo report, the ACB has taken action against them, reprimanding all three for prioritizing franchise-based leagues over Afghanistan cricket. A committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

Uncertainty over Mujeeb ur Rahman’s participation in IPL 2024

Mujeeb was successfully acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at his base price of INR 2 crore in the recently concluded IPL auction. The talented bowler was set to make his return to the IPL after three years. However, there is uncertainty regarding whether he will be granted a NOC by the ACB for the competition. With the uncertainty surrounding Mujeeb’s participation, KKR may consider alternative options.

  • Shamsi’s unorthodox left-arm wrist spin can be a game-changer in T20 cricket, providing a different dimension to the team’s bowling attack.
  • Despite limited opportunities in previous IPL seasons, Shamsi’s international record as a wicket-taker suggests he could be a potent force, especially in turning conditions like Eden Gardens.
